Pine Knob is a downhill ski area in Independence Township, Oakland County, near Clarkston, Michigan (whose post office serves the area). It is best known for its snow-making and marquee run, “The Wall.” Pine Knob is the home mountain to a number of local high school ski racing teams, including Clarkston, Detroit Country Day School, Rochester Adams High School, Cranbrook Kingswood, Lake Orion, and Rochester.

The property is adjacent to DTE Energy Music Theatre, formerly named Pine Knob Music Theatre, as well as Pine Knob Golf Club and Pine Knob Mansion.

Racing

Beer League – Pine Knob offers Tuesday night beer league racing for adults age 21 and over. The league is sponsored by New Belgium Brewing Co.

Nastar – Nastar is public racing for all ages to participate in. Medals are awarded for your handicap level. Nastar at PK is offered on Saturday and Sunday at PK From 1 pm to 3 pm. Sign up is at the Ski School.
